hueviews makes things with thread, photographs, paper, and pixels. something new, every day since december 2020.

hueviews is a tactile artist working across embroidery, photography, collage, and digital media. she's drawn to ordinary things and the small details that might otherwise go unnoticed.
she learned how to stitch as a child and grew up carrying a camera everywhere. day trips meant rolls of film, and eventually a job at a camera store meant lots of time processing negatives and printing black-and-white photographs. there's nothing quite like the smell of a darkroom.
she went on to spend nearly 20 years working in television and audio production. from editing and transcription to coordinating projects, she contributed to work for Disney, CBS, MTV, and other networks. much of the job involved keeping track of moving parts, solving problems, and bringing everything together.
in December 2020, she began making a new piece of art every day. what started as a personal challenge has grown into an ongoing visual journal. some pieces are planned, while others begin with a random thought that needs somewhere to go.
outside of making art, she's usually watching television, working on a puzzle, reading, or spending time with her husband and cat.
